If it's just the one outlet, you can test all of your outlets, which I would recommend because some houses, they have been upgraded in some spots and not others.
So this is one item that you can use, very simple, very cheap, that can tell you if your house has adequate grounding. When you plug this item in, you will have lights that light up. If you don't have any lights, that's telling you the plug does not work at all, so you need to contact a licensed electrician. But in the meantime, if you plug this up, and there's clear instructions that tell you which lights light up for certain situations. So if right now this says if the two right lights light up, then this is a correct wiring. You do not have to do anything. It's all grounded. Everything works. But if it doesn't, these two lights don't light up and other lights light up, then you have a problem. You need to contact a licensed electrician to get that serviced immediately.
