Brittney Bailey: The Human Side of Service
By Caitlyn Stair, Diamond Certified Research Reporter
Brittney Bailey believes great service is felt, not just delivered. Raised in a family-built company and shaped by years of hands-on experience, she has turned a legacy of hard work into a people-first approach that prioritizes quality, communication and lasting impact.
Brittney first got involved in the restaurant service trade in 2016, when she took an office role at her father’s company, North Bay Restaurant Services. That opportunity led to her learning the administrative side of the business while gaining firsthand insight into the industry’s inner workings.
Brittney’s early exposure grew into something more meaningful as she recognized the value of continuing what her father had built. Today, as co-owner of North Bay Restaurant Services, she plays a key role in shaping the company’s future while honoring its foundation. “It’s awesome working alongside my dad,” she says. “I get to spend a lot of time with him, which is fun, but I also have the opportunity to learn from him. He started the company, so he has a lot of knowledge.”
In her current role, Brittney takes a hands-on approach to leadership. She oversees daily operations, manages an office staff and stays closely involved in every aspect of customer communication. “I play a role in everything,” she affirms. “I see every email that comes through the office for every department. The team will gather information and consult with me on the best possible package for the client—something that delivers quality, value and the right pricing.”
While Brittney is deeply committed to operational excellence, her greatest passion lies in the growth and success of her team. “The best part of my job is watching the girls in the office grow their skills, get raises and promotions, and improve their quality of life,” she shares. “That’s what it’s all about.”
Beyond internal growth, Brittney is equally driven by North Bay Restaurant Services’ role in maintaining a higher standard of service within its industry. Having witnessed the rise of large corporate competitors over the years, she remains committed to preserving the personalized experience that smaller businesses provide. “When we started in the ’90s, there were a lot of small companies, but now, big corporations are buying them up and the quality of service has declined,” she explains. “We differentiate ourselves because we’re still a small company at heart. We prioritize customer service and quality at every level, which a lot of big companies lose as they grow.”
A lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Brittney currently lives in Santa Rosa with her French bulldog, Babe, where she appreciates the North Bay’s unique balance of lifestyle and accessibility. “We’re close to San Francisco for culture, about 35 minutes from the coast, and surrounded by wine country and great outdoor spaces,” she says. “Also, the weather is amazing and the people are really nice.”
Outside of work, Brittney enjoys interior design and antiquing, often spending weekends exploring estate sales and searching for unique pieces with character and history. “I love anything that’s high-quality and has patina, especially if there’s a story behind it,” she details. One of her favorite recent finds is a vintage candelabra-style lamp adorned with crystals—a statement piece she discovered at a local estate showroom. “It looks like something you’d light with candles, but it’s electric. It’s just beautiful.”
Ultimately, Brittney believes in going above and beyond in every aspect of life and work. “I believe you should always try to exceed expectations, whether it’s for yourself, your teammates or your customers,” she offers. “Just always try to go a little further.”
Ask Me Anything!
Q: What’s your favorite movie genre?
A: Mystery. I loved reading Agatha Christie novels when I was growing up, so I think that carried over into what I enjoy watching now.
Q: Coffee or tea?
A: I actually gave up caffeine a couple of years ago by accident. I was sick for a few days and out of my normal routine, and before I knew it, I had gone three days without coffee. I figured I’d just keep it going and see what happened. I’ll have tea every once in a while, but now I wake up with natural energy.
Q: Do you prefer being somewhere cold or somewhere hot?
A: I used to say I was a cold-weather person, but after a recent trip to South Carolina and Georgia, I can honestly say I enjoy both.
Q: What’s your favorite local restaurant?
A: Le Central Bistro in San Francisco. It’s a local institution.
Q: If you could time-travel, would you go to the past or the future?
A: The past. With my love of antiques and vintage style, I feel like I’d fit in better there. I think 18th-century France would be a fun place to experience.
