SANTA ROSA — Thomas Carrell: Hi there. Today, we’re talking about roof-related fire safety. And when it comes to products that are installed on your roof, it is a requirement to install Class A fire-rated products. These are a series of tests that the products are put through to ensure that they’re able to withstand fire as best as possible. Some additional requirements as of late are in the areas of wildland-urban interface. One of the requirements is eighth-inch, steel mesh screen installed over your intake and outgassing vents for your attic. Another measure being required by the local building departments is steel mesh gutter screens. This is intended to keep leaves and other debris out of your gutters.
