When it comes to remodeling a kitchen, budget is naturally a concern. Most homeowners want to invest in quality, but they also want to save money wherever they can. That’s why it makes sense to list all the products and materials you need and prioritize where to spend your money. For example, you might choose an economically priced flooring product in order to allot more of your budget toward high-end countertops. Another budget-wise choice is to reuse or refurbish existing components instead of replacing them (cabinet refacing is a good example of this).

Regardless of your budget, there are certain aspects of kitchen remodeling where quality should never take a backseat to cost savings. One of these is the kitchen sink. Why? Because once a kitchen sink is installed, it’s nearly impossible to remove. Typically, the countertop will need to be chipped out in order to remove it—and that’s in a best-case scenario. Hardy countertop materials like granite can’t be chipped out, so if you have a granite countertop, you’re basically stuck with the sink you have. That’s why it’s crucial to invest in a high-quality kitchen sink. If you need to cut costs to stay under budget, cut them somewhere else.
