Video: Prioritize Your Construction Budget

I have a project in mind, how much it's gonna cost me? That's the golden question. How to budget for a construction project. How much is the planning gonna go for? How much is the permit fee's gonna be? How much is the material and how much is the construction? It's all gonna lead you back to the design phase. Why? Because when you have accurate design, less changes as you go, less things that's gonna happen when are unpredictable. For that reason, when you're budgeting for construction, I'm always gonna recommend to go for reverse engineering because there is two main agendas of how to build a project. Hey, I have a dream. I don't care how much it's gonna cost, or, I have a budg- a budget, and that's basically what I can afford. And then you reverse engineer. You're starting with your finished material. You're starting with the planning, and only once you have those two sorted out, then you can actually get a contractor and compare apple to apple.
