with Angie Spaulding of Guy’s Fencing, Inc.

Here are some helpful tips on how to start a fence project. Know what you want, if it's for safety, privacy, or decorative reasons. Knowing the style of fence you're looking for will help streamline the estimating process. There are many material options and fun styles that are available to you, which is also helpful to have in mind prior to requesting a quote.

Research researching companies by making sure they're licensed, bonded, and insured, and have experience working with the styles of fence you're looking for. Are there neighbors involved? If so, gathering neighbors information prior to meeting with an estimator is always helpful to expedite the bidding process.

Communication. Working with neighbors can be challenging. Having open and honest communication between neighbors and the fencing company is always helpful to make sure everyone's needs and wants are met. Timing, allowing time to work with your neighbors to discuss styles and come to an agreement, sign a contract, get on the contractor schedule, and complete the work in a timely manner.

In some cases, it can take several months from start to finish, so patience is key. These are some tips that are helpful to streamline a successful fencing project.
