What to expect when changing a roof. Changing a roof out can be a seemingly daunting task. You don't know where to start. You have no idea what's gonna happen in the middle, and you kind of just have an idea of where you want to end up. So let's break this down. There are three phases to roofing, construction, the tear off and demolition, the actual installation of the roofing system and the final delivery. What should you expect in each of these phase?
In the first phase, you should expect us to be looking for what kind of building you're at. Is it a commercial, uh, property where you have a single ply roof or is it an asphalt shingle roof, for example? Let's say it's a shingle tear off. What we're looking for is depending on the height of the building, where are we going to be able to park either the dump truck or the dump trailer to, uh, properly tear off and dispose of all of your old roof? And we may just be disposing of the shingles. You may have to have, uh, your plywood remade because you have dry rot. All of these things are little things that we take into consideration to ensure that you're getting the best product possible.
The next thing is the actual installation. What should you look out for here? As previously mentioned, a roof is a system. It is a collection of several components that work to keep both water and all of the elements out of your home. So look for things like your plywood. Does it have dry rot and does it need to be replaced? Starter strip. What kind of starter strip are you using?
What kind of underlayment are you using? Are you using 30 pound felt? Are you using synthetic underlayment? What kind of shingles are you using? What kind of ridge caps are you using? And what kind of ventilation systems are you using? All of these things are things that we take into consideration when building you a custom roof, uh, plan so that you get the thing that's most tailored to you.
And then final delivery is the environment, either cleaner. Or as clean as it was from the beginning. Every single delivery ends with a proper cleanup of both any materials that may have flown away during construction, and any nails that may have fallen during demolition. If all of these things are done properly, you're bound to have a great experience.
