Make sure that you're changing your air filters every 3 to four months and routinely checking them to make sure they're not clogged with hair or dust or anything else that's uh fluctuating around the home. The number one cause for a breakdown in a system is actually a clogged air filter. It can choke up the blower motor in your furnace and cause other issues with the system as a whole. So, make sure you're always checking. In order to check your air filters, go to your furnace, uh, pop open the filter cabinet, and just pull your filter out. If you can see light through the filter, then you can probably get some more use out of it. If not, you want to replace it immediately. And if you need help accessing your furnace or your filter cabinet, make sure you call an experienced technician in order to check it properly for you and go over the correct sizings and where you can properly locate those filters. What you want to do as well is make sure you have the proper MV rating on your filter. Pull out the filter that's currently in your furnace. Take a look at the side. You should see a number between 1 and 16. Making sure you have the proper MV rating means that you're getting the proper air flow in the home. And proper air flow is everything. Uh you want to change your filter often because that way you're always breathing clean air.
