[music] So, I grew up in a family that where my dad owned his own company. Um, they moved from New Jersey to California, and then my dad started his own business. Uh, and so, I watched that uh, that growth that my dad created in his business. So, I think that's part of it. Then also, kind of right out of college, I had even thought about creating my own company. But it really, the main seed was planted in uh, sitting in my backyard with my wife who said, "Hey, why don't you start your own roofing company? You, you, you've done it for many years." And um, and so, that seed planted in my mind went from a uh, me building a 10 by12 uh, office in my backyard, and now we have maybe 15 employees or not not, maybe, we have 15 employees in the company where um, you know going from me doing everything on my own with my 10 x12 shed in the backyard to a a whole office and and employee 15 employees and warehouse and everything. And uh, so really, the I think the main crux of it is the inspiration comes from family. My watching my dad build his own company and me being inspired by that and then my wife uh planting the seed to to really make the jump into the business. Well, so um, I have many philosophies, but one main philosophy is I am building people and I'm using a company to do it, which is very different than I'm building a company and using people to build that company. So the um, the desire to to grow individuals and an example of that would be Gilbert who started in the company uh, and he was doing basic data entry in uh, in his first few months to now where he's the general manager of the company and he's the best salesman in the company and he's just really thriving. So, that's what I love to see in in building up people to to build the company. So, a another philosophy of really of meritocracy. So, I don't have the pride in myself if somebody else has another idea that I'm so prideful to say no, it's my way or the highway. And uh, the a good example of that is is we made a pink truck. So, we're all in the office sitting here discussing, hey, what if we made a pink truck? Uh, and it was kind of just a joke somewhat in the beginning, but then talking through it with everybody. And Roxanne is our uh, office manager, executive assistant. She does an incredible job. Um, and she said she wanted to, you know, live her Barbie dream in a pink pink car. So, I uh we we put it all together. We sifted through it. We thought about it. And we now have a pink truck with a top tier logo on it with a uh, you know, it says women in roofing on the side of it. And uh, you know that that's a good I think example of of meritocracy of somebody having a good idea that I originally dismissed to then uh, you know really come to fruition. So, I we we all really take an educational approach. We don't have high pressure sales pitches to you. We want to give you all the information about uh, what roof you're buying. In our proposal, we'll give you many options to look at, but uh, there's also external um, validation of our expertise as well. Diamond certified is a great example of that. We uh, love being diamond certified. Better Business Bureau A+ rating, five stars on on all the consumer rating uh, websites. Plus, um, we're a, uh, the highest rated contractor with both certainty, no one's Corning, and we won a handful of other awards, but really an educational approach to try to give you, um, let you make the best decision for you uh, without any high pressure plus um, having those external um, valid the external validation from the consumer groups. Uh, so I've known Prerio for about 20 years. He has 34 years of experience installing roofs. And one of my first uh, roofs that I worked on was installing with him about 20 years ago. So, he is has become just a great friend of mine. He now is is in the office uh, doing estimates, doing repair estimates, doing roof replacement estimates. And when he first started, he was somewhat uh, had trepidation about being able to put proposals together. His computer savvy wasn't really there. And he's gone from, you know, a couple years now where that was a bit of a concern of his now to where it's very very fluid. And he's he's doing an incredible job creating uh, estimates and taking care of customers. He's also a project manager. So, uh, yeah, Preriio is is is a great friend and does a a really good job working together. >> [music]
