[Music] Uh, helpful expertise to myself and my team, um, is mainly about finding and meeting the needs of the customer. A lot of times customers come into the store, and they initially have many questions for me, and I actually like to turn the tables and ask questions to the customer. How many people in the home, what they're looking for, the use for the products, and that allows me to find the proper product for each person. Uh, secondarily, having a wealth of knowledge on your products then allows you to bring the customer to the correct product and save time and making sure that they find the proper entity for their home. I began in the floor covering industry in high school. A friend of mine had an apprentice job here and just couldn't hack the work. A little too hard for him, so it got passed along to me. Uh, this has been my main job since I was in high school. So, I'm a bit of an anomaly being that I have worked at the same place, uh, all my life. I started here in high school, and I am the current owner of Armstrong Carpet. I'm the fifth owner, and we have been serving San Francisco since 1946. Uh, key questions that you would want to ask a floor covering professional or a window covering professional. Uh, the main question would be one of the most basic. Are you licensed? Are you bonded? Are you insured? Do you have the proper credentials to do work in a customer's home and ensure that everything is safe and taken care of? Uh, do you subcontract your labor would be an excellent question. Uh, we do not subcontract here at Armstrong. We have employees, and that is what allows us to have a standard of quality, uh, that those that subcontract peaceworkout do not provide to their customers. And I think the last question that I'd want a customer to ask is where is the product made? Uh, I certainly prefer to purchase and sell American-made products as I find them to be higher quality, uh, with a bigger and better company standing behind the warranty at the end. I believe that what sets us apart from other companies in the industry is twofold. Uh, one is an old adage that my mom taught me, and there's only one way to do things and that's the right way, and that is throughout the entire process here at Armstrong Carpet and Lenolium. Want to make sure that we find the right product for the customer, that it's installed to the specifics and the guidelines required, and the right way is also how you treat your customers and your employees. At Armstrong, we maintain employees in house and ensure that they are provided a proper living wage for the area and also have the skills and the techniques that are required to install in a customer's home. Well, a short story about one of my team members would be this team member over here. This is my daughter Nia who has started working in the store in high school, and she's been doing an excellent job. Nia has been doing everything that I have done from the ground up. So, this young lady has done demolition, uh, janitorial work. She now is able to answer the phone and assist customers. So, uh, very proud to have a family member working with me and just hopeful for the future that one day Nia will take the reins and continue the tradition at Armstrong Carpet and Lenolium.
