Orr Jacob: Orchestrating the Process
By Caitlyn Stair, Diamond Certified Research Reporter
For Orr Jacob, a successful remodeling project is a careful balance of moving parts—timelines, materials and people all working toward a single outcome. The role he plays is less about any one task and more about orchestrating the entire process with precision and control.
Orr grew up in a family of contractors, so he learned the trade from the ground up. “My father was a contractor and I worked with him during the summers, so I’ve always been around it,” he says. That early exposure led to hands-on experience in residential remodeling, where he developed a strong foundation in project execution.
After moving from Los Angeles to the Bay Area about a decade ago, Orr found an opportunity to join Lemon Remodeling through a mutual connection. Through shared values and a similar approach to business, the partnership developed naturally. “We had common interests and a similar business model, so we connected that way,” he says.
Today, as director of project development at Lemon Remodeling, Orr focuses on coordinating every aspect of the construction process to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish. “I like creating organizational tools and being kind of a conductor,” he explains. “It’s rewarding when I can bring all the individual pieces of a construction site together in harmony to complete a project.”
Orr approaches each job with a meticulous eye and focuses on communication to ensure the client’s goals are being met. “I make sure everything is done level, clean and to the highest standard,” he affirms. “When our clients look back on their projects, I want them to feel like it was worth the investment.”
Outside of work, Orr enjoys a quieter pace of life in Cupertino, where he lives with his wife, Emily. “It’s calm, but you still get that Silicon Valley energy,” he says. “It’s not always a hundred miles an hour.” In his free time, Orr enjoys listening to music (particularly jazz and blues) and attending concerts.
From a professional standpoint, Orr believes strongly in honesty, accountability and maintaining perspective in a client-focused business. “Honesty is the best policy, both with yourself and with your clients,” he says. “I treat every house like it’s my own. I think, ‘If I were paying for this, would I be happy with the result?’”
Ask Me Anything!
Q: If you could time-travel, would you go to the past or the future?
A: Definitely the future. I want to see what I’m going to miss and what kind of world we’re leaving behind for the next generation.
Q: Have you ever read a book more than once?
A: I’ve read lots of books more than once, but my favorite is “1984” by George Orwell. I’ve read that cover to cover many times.
Q: What’s your favorite sports team?
A: The Golden State Warriors.
Q: Would you ever skydive?
A: Absolutely. It looks like a lot of fun.
Q: What’s your favorite holiday?
A: Thanksgiving, because I get to spend a lot of time with family. My wife and I also like to cook, so it’s a good holiday for that.
