Jeremy Griffin: Enjoying Every Moment
By Matt Solis, Editor
For Jeremy Griffin, plumbing isn’t just a job—it’s a family tradition that spans generations. “My uncle’s family has been in the plumbing industry since the 1940s in our area,” he says. “I grew up around his company and started helping him during high school, mostly doing labor like digging ditches. After I graduated in 1994, he offered me a full-time position and I jumped right in.”
At the time, Jeremy was focused on handling the plumbing systems for new construction and tenant improvement projects, but when his uncle retired in 2002, he decided to purchase the company with his wife, Joy, and shift to residential plumbing work. Today, he says his favorite part of his job is creating and testing new concepts and procedures. “I like taking an idea, forming an action plan and implementing it. It doesn’t always work, but when it does, it’s incredibly rewarding.”
A longtime resident of Orcutt in Santa Barbara County, Jeremy appreciates the coastal lifestyle he shares with his wife and their four children. “I’ve lived here most of my life and Joy was born and raised here, so it has always been home to us,” he says. “We’re about 15 minutes from the ocean and the weather is 70 degrees year-round, so it’s just a beautiful place to live.”
Outside of work, Jeremy takes full advantage of the outdoor opportunities that come with living on California’s Central Coast. “I like riding off-road motorcycles, surfing, and going on walks and hikes with my wife,” he details. “I’ve also been disc golfing a lot lately. It’s a great way to relax.”
When it comes to a personal or professional philosophy, Jeremy lets his easygoing attitude guide the way. “Life is short, so I believe you should enjoy every moment to the fullest,” he offers. “It’s kind of cliché, but it’s definitely true.”
