Balazs Banner: A Transformative Process
By Caitlyn Stair, Diamond Certified Research Reporter
For Balazs Banner, remodeling is much more than building—it’s a transformative process where worn-down kitchens, bathrooms and homes are reborn as beautiful, functional spaces. To that end, he says he crafts each project to give the family a place they can truly enjoy and call their own.
Balazs’ earliest exposure to construction came from growing up around his father’s business in their native Hungary. After the Banner family relocated to the United States in 2016, the two partnered to build a new company from the ground up, blending their industry expertise with business and language skills. “I didn’t really work in construction before, but once we moved to the U.S., everything came together,” he says. “We formed the company shortly after we settled in Sacramento and I learned as we went along.”
Balazs took on the ownership role and shaped Banner LLC from the start. He says he was drawn to remodeling for its fast-paced nature and the immediate impact it creates. “This is a fairly fast-moving industry. You can get results and change spaces pretty quickly.”
As the primary point of contact for his clients, Balazs leads everything from the initial estimates to ongoing communication, ensuring their projects stay aligned with their visions while remaining transparent and on track. He says creating a positive experience for each client is what makes his work meaningful. “I’m the first one they see or contact, so I make sure our estimate really represents what they want. It’s very rewarding [when] they’re happy with the outcome.”
Balazs currently lives in Roseville with his wife, Kymber, and their two children, Bella and Brook. He says he loves the Greater Sacramento region for its balance of opportunity, livability and, of course, excellent weather. “We have a growing economy and it’s a safe, peaceful area. We actually have a lot of clients from the Bay Area who are relocating here.”
Outside of work, Balazs and his family live an active and social life, often hosting or visiting friends and enjoying time together. “We love good restaurants—this area has really expanded its dining options,” he adds. “We also try to visit Hungary to see relatives whenever we can, and while we’re there, we like exploring other parts of Europe like Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic.”
Balazs believes strongly in living a values-driven life, keeping integrity and purpose at the forefront of both work and family. Reflecting on his approach, he says a particular Bible verse reminds him to keep living righteously and let that guide his decisions. “Matthew 6:33 says, ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well,’ which is about recognizing the value that’s right in front of you. If you’re just chasing money, it can lead to mistakes or things going sideways fairly easily.”
Ask Me Anything!
Q: If you could retire tomorrow, what’s the first thing you would do?
A: My wife and I skipped a real honeymoon, so I’d love to take her to Bora Bora for a nice vacation at some point.
Q: What’s the strangest food you’ve ever eaten?
A: I’ve had sea urchin at sushi restaurants, but one time in Croatia I tried it straight out of the ocean. But in Europe, it’s common to eat animal parts like gizzards, stomachs and hearts.
Q: Do you prefer being somewhere hot or cold?
A: Somewhere hot. I do love the snow, but I can’t see myself living somewhere with it.
Q: If you could time-travel, would you go to the past or the future?
A: The past because I love history, but it would also be fascinating to see the future.
