Today I wanna talk about ventilation and how that actually prolongs the life of your roof. Many times people get a roof from a company and they tell you it's gonna last 30 years, and sometimes by the 15th year it's already cracking and looking really bad. This may be due to the fact that your home actually had no ventilation installed.
There's two types of ventilation you need. You need both intake and you need exhaust. A lot of the times under your softfit in roofs, there's holes or the long vents that provide the intake ventilation. It may not be the case on some flat roofs, so that's one thing that you wanna look at.
And some roofers maybe skip out on that, so if you're getting a roof from a company, make sure that they're offering either SmartVent at the top or O'Hagins for exhaust. This will prolong the life of your roof, give you the expected time of the roof, which could be 30 or 50 years depending on the type of roof that you get.
If you don't have this, your investment in the roof won't be worthwhile because you'll basically be doing half the job on the roof. Make sure that you have intake and exhaust ventilation so your roof lasts a very long time and you protect your investment and your home.
