How to spot leaks on the interior of your home. There's a few different areas that you wanna focus in on. Most of 'em are at the water sources. So you have your sinks in the bathrooms, sinks in kitchens, maybe a sink in the laundry room, or maybe a sink in in the garage. So typically the water leaks from sinks are coming from either the water hoses themselves, maybe the drain lines under the sink, or there's the angle stops, which is where you turn the water on and off at the walls. Those, you've either been bumped or they're failing and causing some kind of leak. So if you wanna look under those sinks, maybe you know, every few months just to make sure nothing nothing's going on.
You can look for water staining on the bottom of the cabinets, or if it's a, a pedestal sink or a free floating sink. You just look on the floor for evidence of water staining, if you're unsure if it's leaking. A tip would be to put a piece of a paper towel under there. When the water drips on the paper towel, it changes kind of colors. It gets a little darker. So it's really apparent that there's a leak going on.
You can also look for leaks in the showers bathroom showers or bathroom toilet. It's another common area to find leaks. In showers, you'll see that the sliding glass doors or any kind of shower door maybe is not properly sealed, or the sealant has failed over time and it's now allowing water to trickle out or escape somehow. And so you'll see even water staining on the floor of the bathroom. You might see even like mold on the shower tiles or the shower glass between the silicone mold will start growing, which indicates the moisture is getting past the initial barrier of silicone around toilets. You'll see again, the angle stop in the wall maybe is failed or the connection is is poor as you're seeing drips on the floor or down the wall or the, the wax ring under the toilet is shifted or failed for some reason, and you'll see water running out the edge of the toilet. Maybe you have some soft floor in front of the toilet, on the side of the toilet, indicating some kind of leak that you're not seeing in those areas.
