Video: Choosing the Right Planning Team

So let's talk about how to choose your planning team. Every construction project, successful one at least, gonna start from the planning. There is two main agendas, and obviously those agendas are gonna be reflected by what type of project you have. Do you have a full remodel of existing house? Are you planning to build an ADU? New construction? For that reason, let's talk about your architect, your engineer, the type of verification that they are going to do. When you're gonna get to the point of starting from scratch, there is no unforeseen. For that reason, probably I would go purely with design firm that gonna give you your vision. But when you're coming for remodeling, addition, working on existing property, you want to make sure that the person that gonna do your plan is also gonna be responsible for the construction. The reason being, there is a lot of wall to be open, a lot of thing that you're not gonna be able to know until the construction start. Same principle for your engineer and your architect. For that reason, we always gonna recommend to work with the company that gonna be responsible also for the construction in order to facilitate and protect you from unforeseen of change orders during the construction.
