So what do you do if you have a water problem, like a small flood in a kitchen or in a bathroom or a sink? Overflows? What you want to do is put a fan on it. Um, you want to make sure you stop the water source first and put a fan on it. If you're able to start actively drying the water right after it, the, the problem happened, you're not gonna cause mold if the problem has been sitting there and the water has been there stagnant for more than 24 to 48 hours. Do not put a fan on it. So the key here is to start drying it immediately and you're fine. And you don't have to worry about mold. You can also go to the local, uh, home Depot or Lowe's, and you can rent a dehumidifier and start drying out the problem before you call the professionals.
If your water problem is in carpet, one thing you can do is pull up the carpet from the tax strip and remove the padding. Lay the carpet over itself and start drying out underneath with a drying fan, and then once that is dry, you can put the carpet back and keep the fans going on the top surface of the carpet and that should help solve your problem and not create a mold situation.
