Video: How to Handle a Rodent Infestation in Your Home

with Niv Goldman of Alley Cat

So finding a rodent in the house is usually by either seeing them, hearing scratches in the attic or crawl spaces or smelling something, then you know you have an animal that intrude the home such as rodent, rats, mice, squirrels. The first thing to do that is recommended is to understand infestation levels. So go and find where there's droppings. Look at the pantry, look in dark places, maybe take a peek under the crawl space, open the crawl space door, look if there is any droppings there, in the attic. And once you understand kind of the infestation level you might want to consider either to hire a professional company to come and deal with this. Clean it, sanitize, waterproof, set up traps and take care of the problem. Or you can possibly also decide to take care of this yourself if it's a minor infestation, such as plugging the hole yourself or cleaning up the droppings. If you plug the holes and you continually seeing new droppings and new activity, you should probably call somebody that is professional in the field to come and inspect the areas. So taking care of these problem sooner than later can benefit you financially and also healthwise.
