Some of the shows are interviews with experts while others are investigative series. They can be entertaining and easy to listen to while doing chores, taking a walk or making dinner.

In this article, I’m going to list and describe some of the podcasts I’ve sampled. A few are actually produced by known and respected consumer organizations.

The Perfect Scam from AARP covers topics such as crypto fraud, fake bank texts, mortgage and concert ticket scams, and puppy mills. Now in its 15th season, it’s part of the AARP Fraud Watch Network.

Scam Goddess has a feature called “Fraud Fridays.” It’s hosted by comedian Laci Mosley who brings in other celebrities to talk about scams in the news, like the fake high school football team that played against an elite team on ESPN.

Fraudsters is a true crime/comedy docuseries that highlights con artists who abuse trust and take advantage of people financially. The topics range from political figures who engage in fraud to welfare scams and teen telemarketers.

Clark Howard Podcast is produced by a nationally respected consumer advocate who focuses on helping people save money and make better financial decisions. Howard also covers breaking consumer news and economic trends. You’ll find some great stuff in his podcasts, like this episode about “pig butchering” scams.

Consumerpedia, brought to you by Consumers’ Checkbook, covers traditional consumer information with consumer expert Herb Weisbaum. Some recent episodes include a guide to buying new windows, how scammers use AI, what to know about electric vehicles and how to find good hotel rates.

Those podcasts should keep you busy enough, but here are a few more titles to check out and possibly add to your list: Swindled, Consumer Reports Podcast and Fraud Talk. Sample some to see which ones might strike your fancy and/or hit a nerve. Happy listening!

Use Diamond Certified Resource to find top rated companies.

Related Articles
Your Guide to Being a Savvy Consumer
Get Expert Advice From Owners of Top Rated Local Companies
Become a Diamond Certified Preferred Member (Always Free)
