That’s why, in addition to considering the functional attributes of your system, it’s important to address the visual impact it will have on your home or place of business.

One crucial consideration is the system’s layout, which determines the locations of components like panels, boxes and conduits. With proactive planning, your solar contractor can design your system to minimize the visual prominence of these components. For instance, solar modules can be mounted so they look like part of the roof rather than a conspicuous raised platform. Also, roof obstructions like stacks and plumbing vents can be relocated to allow for the system to be centralized in one area.

Another aesthetic consideration is the style of panel you choose to install. As a general rule, any time solar panels are going to be visible from the street side, it’s best to go with a low-profile option. Since they’re darker in color, low-profile panels will blend in better with your roof.

To address these and other aesthetic concerns, talk to your solar installer about your options. Remember, your solar system will be on your roof for the next 25 to 30 years, so it’s important to make sure it won’t be an eyesore.

Use Diamond Certified Resource to find top rated companies.

Local, Top Rated Diamond Certified Companies Related to Your Topic
Santa Clara County Solar Companies
Marin County Solar Companies
Contra Costra County Solar Companies
San Francisco Solar Companies
San Mateo County Solar Companies

Related Articles
The Homeowner's Guide to Solar
Get Expert Advice From Owners of Top Rated Local Companies
Become a Diamond Certified Preferred Member (Always Free)
