Copper water pipes
If your home still has its original galvanized water pipes, it’s time for an upgrade. Not only can these old pipes cause low water pressure issues in your home, they can potentially be a source of lead contamination for your water supply. To avoid these problems, replace your galvanized water pipes with copper pipes—they’re durable and they won’t contaminate your water.

2. Water recirculation pump
A water recirculation pump provides nearly instant hot water to your sink and shower fixtures. It does this by sending standing water in the hot water line back to the water heater (which would otherwise be lost down the drain) while at the same time drawing hot water directly from the heater to the fixture in use. Activated by the touch of a button (or a motion sensor), this pump reduces wait times for hot water from minutes to a few seconds, which saves thousands of gallons of water every year.

3. Earthquake safety valve
In the event of an earthquake, your home’s gas supply can become damaged, which can cause a gas leak and subsequent fires or explosions. A simple way to protect against this catastrophe is to install an earthquake safety valve. This small device is designed to sense ground movement and, following tremors of a certain magnitude, shut off gas service to the home. Moreover, it doesn’t cost much to install, making it both a wise and affordable investment for protecting your home and family.

Use Diamond Certified Resource to find top rated companies.

Local, Top Rated Diamond Certified Companies Related to Your Topic
Sonoma County Plumbers
Contra Costa County Plumbers
San Francisco Plumbers
Santa Clara County Plumbers
Solano County Plumbers

Related Articles
The Homeowner's Guide to Plumbing, Septic Systems & Gas Lines
Get Expert Advice From Owners of Top Rated Local Companies
Become a Diamond Certified Preferred Member (Always Free)
