Video: Preparing Surfaces for Painting

Making sure that, the job gets done correctly, first of all, the homeowner has to see is that preparation. Preparation is a main key to any successful paint job. What we have, always focus on is preparation. The painting is the easiest, but preparation is the most difficult, and we gotta pay more attention to it, 'cause that's gonna last you longer. For example, we have a drywall here, on top of it We patch it and tape it, mud it, clean it, make sure there's no dust around it before we apply the mud, before we apply the drywall. And right after, sand it two months compound after, we prime it in two coats of paint. That's gonna last you long 'cause, like I said, everybody can paint it, but not a lot of people know how to prep it.
