Video: Design First, Build Second

My first tip for customers is make sure to have a design before you hire a construction company. Because in that design you have the blueprints, the things organized, and what are the steps of the way, plus codes and specifications. So make sure to have that before hiring a construction company, otherwise it's gonna be too much arguing between the construction company and the client, because we are not on the same page.

So we have to make sure this is very important before starting a project. The process with the designer is, so you go and hire one. So you explain everything that you want on, let's say, on the backyard, on the front yard. You put all the things together and the designer's gonna show up to your property and explain you everything, take some photos, all the information, and take it to the office.

And then he's gonna start building that on the computer. And once he had it, he's gonna forward it to you, and you're gonna make sure is the things that you want it on the design. Otherwise you can go back to him and explain him, "Oh, you know what? Let's change this before, continuing." After you get with him, and you guys agree to that, and then he's gonna follow you up, and then he's gonna call you back.

And then once you get it, and then you are ready to start the project.
