Video: A Common Misconception About Attic Insulation

These days, many customers come to us concerned that they need complete removal of their attic insulation, and cleaning and sanitizing and rodent proofing. My experience has been most of these people don't even have a rodent problem. They don't realize that if their existing insulation is cellulose and it's gray, that it came out of the bag. That color, it's supposed to be that color. We can upgrade over their existing cellulose or their existing fiberglass bats or their existing rock wool and bring them to a modern R value where they will absolutely notice the difference in the field, the comfort of the house, and their utility bill.

Of everybody that comes to me asking for removal less than 10% of these customers actually need removal. Those that do have had a rodent infestation or smoke, damage from a fire, something like that, something extreme, in which case we can help them with removal and full replacement.
