Hire a firm that is a design build firm to where they then have a design that they can use to get prices on that same design from other contractors so that they can compare apples to apples rather than getting multiple designs from multiple people. Now it's all convoluted and you don't exactly know what you're getting from this guy versus that guy.
If you have one design from an architect or a landscape designer, that's my recommendation to the consumer. That way they finalize the design. Now they just need to hire the guy that, to implement their design rather than getting multiples designs from multiple people.
