Hi, my name is Jess. I'm the owner of Delta Transmission in Antioch, California. We repair transmissions. We do brakes and tuneups. We rebuild transmissions and differentials, transfer cases. We work on all mix and models, foreign and domestic. We offer one year, 12,000 mi warranty on most of the work. We do have extended warranties of 18, 18, 18 or three or 100,000. A lot of places like you to do a transmission flush. Watch when you do a transmission flush. If the vehicle has a lot of miles on it, a lot of times when you do the flush, it causes more problems than you've already had. We don't do RDI. I do a set price on the transmissions. An RDI is where they have you come in, they'll have you sign a work order for, uh, say $800 to pull a transmission out, take it apart, and then give you the price of what it's going to cost to repair it. What they do is the reason why they do it that way is to go through and find all the hard parts that are damaged. They charge you for each and every hard part. If you decide not to do the repair, they charge you the $800 to put your car back together. You get your car back. So, if I give you a price of $2,400 and you think it's high because they've told you that they want to do an RDI for $800, and then they're saying that, yeah, it's probably around $1,800 to rebuild it. Once they get a part, they want to charge you for the hard parts. If a bunch of hard parts are damaged, they're going to get the price up to, say, $2,600. And at that time, if you decide, well, the other guy told me I could do it for 23, you still have to pay them the $800 for the RDI before you could bring it to me to do it for the 23.
