Why do you apply two thin coats of sealant instead of one?

Two thin coats dry and cure much better than one thick coat. Sealers are water-based coatings, so they cure as water evaporates. A thin coat releases water much better than a thick coat. While one coat often looks good enough, we apply two to preserve your asphalt for longer.

Why do some sealers fail or peel?

If the sealer is applied when it’s too cold outside, it won’t stick properly and it can peel. Sealant will also fail to adhere to oxidized pavement and areas that have surface contaminants like dirt or oil. To get the best seal, thoroughly clean your pavement, burn away any oil spots and prime the surface before application.
