David Bianchi: Doing Things the Old-Fashioned Way
By Caitlyn Stair, Diamond Certified Research Reporter
David Bianchi first got involved in the home improvement industry more than 40 years ago when his father-in-law introduced him to the trade. He already had a job at the time, but that didn’t stop him from learning the basics of handyman work, roofing and property management repairs. “I worked two jobs for an entire year, just so I could learn what he wanted me to learn,” he explains. Over time, that hands-on experience turned into a career rooted in real-world learning and mentorship.
David ended up buying into his father-in-law’s business, but he decided to strike out on his own after realizing he wanted to take a more personal, customer-focused approach than what his partnership allowed. “My partner told me that I was too bubbly with the customers, so I said, ‘OK, I’ll go my own way,’” he recalls.
In 1991, David officially launched David Bianchi Home Repair, Inc. Today, he focuses on delivering hands-on, experience-driven service where relationships matter just as much as the work itself. “About 70 percent of my work comes from repeat clients or referrals,” he says. “I’m also fortunate to have employees who’ve worked with me for a long time.”
David is passionate about the people he works with and the trust he has built in his community over his four-plus decades in the trade. He describes his approach as “old-fashioned,” a philosophy that defines how he operates every day. “A phone call and a handshake are all I need,” he says. “Also, I never turn my phone off, even at night, so my clients know they can get hold of me if there’s an emergency.”
Outside of work, David’s life is centered around family—he has been married to his wife, Regie, for over 40 years, and they enjoy spending quality time with their children and grandchildren. When he’s not working, he can often be found in the woods hunting whatever is in season. “There are two passions in my life: work and hunting,” he affirms. “There’s really not much in between.”
From a professional standpoint, David believes in treating people with respect and letting his work speak for itself. His philosophy is simple and unchanged after decades in the trade. “If you treat customers like you’d want to be treated, the little jobs will lead to bigger jobs,” he offers. “You’re not going to make money on every project, but if you do good work, that customer will call you back.”
