One of the most important things you could do for your warranty is making sure you're hiring a certified contractor that is certified by the manufacturer he's installing. Today, manufacturers really try to build relationships with our contractors, and one of the ways that they do that is through certifying them as installers. But the biggest piece of it is if you have a certified installer and you ever have a warranty issue, your warranty's guaranteed. Where if the contractor isn't certified by that manufacturer and you have an issue, most likely it's gonna come up as a workmanship issue and your warranty claim's not gonna work. So you should always check their certifications or ask them who they're certified by. It doesn't cost you as a homeowner anything, but hiring a certified installer to me is probably one of the best things that you can do when selecting a contractor.
