Do I need to prepare for the inspection?

There are a few things you can do to prepare. First, make sure your crawl space and attic access points are fully accessible and not blocked. You should also make your water heater, HVAC system, stove and other appliances readily accessible.

What kind of lead time do I need to schedule my inspection?

We usually schedule inspections a week in advance. That can vary, though, so it’s best to call ahead and get on our schedule.

How long will it take to complete the inspection?

It depends on the square footage, the age of the home and other factors, but most inspections take two-and-a-half to four hours to complete. We’ll give you an estimate once we know the specifics of your home.

Can I watch you perform the inspection?

Yes. Sometimes it takes a bit longer that way, but if you walk around your property with us, we’ll be able to show you exactly what we’re seeing, all of which will be backed up in the report.

How will I receive the inspection report?

All of our reports are electronic, so you’ll receive yours via email. Ninety percent of our inspections are reported out within a couple of hours after the work is complete.

Can you refer me to a company that can perform repairs?

We can refer you to repair companies that we’ve worked with for a long time, but we always recommend getting three estimates for any kind of work.

Can you give me cost estimates for any necessary repairs?

We aren’t licensed contractors, so we don’t provide that kind of information. Every contractor will charge differently, so we recommend getting three estimates from licensed contractors that can provide those services for you.
