Timurlan Alagushov: Thinking Beyond the Status Quo
By Caitlyn Stair, Diamond Certified Research Reporter
For Timurlan Algushov, professional success has always been about building trust. Through exceptional service and clear communication, he has built a reputation for turning potentially stressful situations into positive experiences for his customers.
Timurlan’s path into the HVAC industry began in 2018 alongside his friend and business partner, Vadim Vechkanov. At the time, Vadim was working as a technician and Timurlan was serving as his apprentice. Although the company they worked for delivered quality service, they saw an opportunity to improve the customer experience and decided to launch Irbis HVAC Inc.
While Vadim brought technical expertise to the partnership, Timurlan contributed a different skill set. “My background was initially in marketing and finance,” he explains. “We combined our strengths to create a company that delivers high-quality workmanship while putting customers first.”
Today, Timurlan focuses on creating a seamless experience for every client. His favorite part of the job isn’t necessarily the technical work—it’s making sure homeowners feel cared for throughout the process. “People usually aren’t super happy about dealing with HVAC work, so I like organizing everything so they end up satisfied,” he says. “When they leave us great reviews and recommend us to their friends, it’s a great feeling.”
Originally from Kazakhstan, Timurlan moved to San Jose in 2016 and quickly embraced the opportunities that the South Bay offers. “I’ve always dreamed of running a business in Silicon Valley,” he says. “There are so many opportunities here and we’re surrounded by nature, so it’s great.”
Outside of work, Timurlan enjoys making electronic music and staying active through a variety of endurance sports. A former competitive athlete, he has completed several triathlons and likes challenging himself physically while exploring Northern California’s scenic landscapes. “It’s interesting to see how my body can handle distance,” he says. “It’s a great feeling to know I’m able to go that far.”
When it comes to a guiding philosophy, Timurlan embraces the importance of perseverance. “The best advice I can give is to continue doing what you believe in,” he offers. “Just make sure you eat and sleep well. Every day is an opportunity for a better life.”
