The safest and most economical way is to run a gas line, but if you don’t want to do that, you can place a propane tank underneath the kitchen island—you’ll just need to vent the island base. Of course, you can always install a charcoal grill that doesn’t require gas or propane, but we always recommend natural gas.

The most cost-effective and longest lasting decks are actually made of composite materials. Besides being affordable and long-lasting, they don’t require much maintenance. If you prefer a natural wood product, we recommend using either Ipe or hardwood. Redwood used to be a popular choice, but redwood decks require a lot of maintenance, which can get tiresome and expensive.
