Last year, we set ourselves a challenge: Improve our website without losing any of the great features consumers use and love. Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of the newly redesigned diamondcertified.org!

Launch of new website

We came into this project confident that the Diamond Certified Resource is the best way for consumers to find local, top rated companies. We knew our website averages more than 430,000 visitors per year, and most of these visitors are Bay Area consumers who are seeking helpful expertise and companies they can trust. We also knew we could make our website even better.

We had two goals with this redevelopment project:

  1. Make it easier for consumers to find all types of solutions, from dental advice to remodeling help.
  2. Give consumers reliable, deep information about every Diamond Certified company (more information than consumers will find anywhere else on the web) so they’re empowered to make informed decisions.

Now, a year and a half later, the results are in. We’ve rebuilt our website from the ground up, and we think you’ll agree that it came out great. The search and navigation features are simple and straightforward, making it easier to find top rated companies and helpful expertise. The home page has everything you need at a glance, and the company report pages feature more articles, more photos, and easier access to every verified survey we’ve conducted.

Below are some details about the changes we’ve made and how you can access these new features. Take a few minutes right now and look around the site. As always, we’d love to hear what you think!

P.S. Make sure to read all the way to the end of this blog to find out what’s in the pipeline. We have even more changes coming!

Search

We’ve done our best to make navigation easier than ever on the new website. To find a local, top rated company, simply enter the industry and location in the search bar—it’s featured prominently on the home page and at the top of every other page. Don’t know the specific industry you need? Don’t worry. Say you need a cleaning service in Marin County. If you type “maid” and the zip code “94901,” the search results that appear will be for “Marin County – House Cleaning.” Still not getting the results you want? Easily switch to “keyword search” on the tab beneath the search bar.

The Diamond Certified Company Report page

You’ll find all of the information you need to determine if a company is right for you on the Diamond Certified Company Report page.

You won’t find this depth of information about particular companies anywhere else online. In addition to important details like contact info, hours and services provided, you’ll find researched articles about the company and its industry, as well as useful DIY tips. Best of all, you can read the telephone surveys we’ve conducted with verified customers so you can see for yourself why the company is top rated.

Home page

We understand that the main reason you come to our site is to find top rated companies—that’s why we put the search bar front and center on our new home page. But scroll down and you’ll find much more, including details on how a company earns Diamond Certified and why that’s important for your consumer experience; blog posts that cover topics like working with contractors, best practices for vehicle maintenance and Green building; and links to expert tips, survey samples, and our social media pages.

What’s next?

We’re so excited about the next phase of our website redevelopment process that it seems pointless to take a break. Over the next few months, we’ll be rolling out more new designs and features. The next big piece, however, will be new tools for Diamond Certified Preferred Consumers. The details are still hush-hush, but be on the lookout for announcements in the near future!
