One again, our thoughts and prayers go out to Mexico, struck yesterday by the second major earthquake in two weeks. One way you can help is by making a donation to the Mexican Red Cross, Cruz Roja Mexicana, here: https://www.cruzrojamexicana.org.mx/ .
On August 24, 2014 at 3:00 am, residents of Napa and surrounding counties were jolted awake by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake. Of course, we all know the Bay Area is at risk for earthquakes. Most of the time, however, it’s easy to live and work here in a state of happy forgetfulness. The Napa quake caused at least 200 injuries, and over 400 million in damage. For many, it was a both a reminder and a literal wake-up call: this is earthquake country and Bay Area residents should be prepared. Like the residents of Napa you may well be asleep when the next big one hits, but that doesn’t mean you have to be caught sleeping. Take simple steps now to keep your home and family safe in the event of a major earthquake.
