North America has been hit hard.

Over these past few weeks, we’ve been humbled by a seemingly endless series of natural disasters in our region of the world. Hurricane Harvey was first, and then Hurricane Irma pummeled Texas and Florida. Two serious earthquakes shook Mexico. Now, CNN is calling the devastation left by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico “apocalyptic.”

We want to help, and we know you do, too. We also want to make sure all donations end up where they can do the most good.

To this end, we’ve used three watchdog sites to identify reputable disaster relief charities rated highly for financial transparency and accountability.

Click on the links below to immediately donate to these charities directly involved in disaster relief for Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida and Mexico.

American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

Of course, many other charities are also doing important work in these and other disaster-struck areas of the world. To learn more about the reputation of any given charity (including the charities above), visit Charity Navigator, Charity Watch or the BBB Wise Giving Alliance.

Please note: We are not affiliated with and do not endorse any of the above charities, including the watchdog groups.
