Located on the corner of Saratoga Avenue and Lawrence Expressway, two blocks southwest of Westgate, Design 101 was established in 1998 and expanded in 2002. Julie Gonzalez is a certified interior designer who has received awards form several professional associations, and her partner Kevin Roessler is experienced in cabinetry, including custom-designed cabinets.
Design 101 specializes in complete interiors, primarily residential but also commercial. Services include the conceptual planning, color palette selection, architectural detailing, lighting design, and selection of flooring, countertops and cabinetry.
For a small percentage of the cost of a project, they provide an environmentally-conscious, professional design as well as in-depth knowledge about and access to a wide range of materials. Their showroom facilitates visualization of products from the well-known to the exotic, and includes window coverings, furniture, and some specialty lines of appliances.
The professional staff includes certified interior designers, certified kitchen designers, and certified bath designers. Customers include those with budgets for both mid-level and high-end projects.
