Bruce Gordon has been on the leading edge of installing solar systems since 1980. He founded Horizon Energy Systems in 2003. Systems installed by Horizon look as if they were designed with the house rather than as an afterthought.
In addition, Horizon Energy Systems uses a better-than-industry-standard bracketing system designed by an architect. It places panels closer together, reducing gaps, and making them closer
to the roof.
At Horizon, the usage needs of the customer drive the engineering design. Unlike large home improvement stores that may offer two or three choices, Horizon customizes the system size so that ultimately the customer won’t have an energy bill.
Horizon bids are comprehensive—there are no
extra costs down the road. Consumers should be weary about bids that don’t include all associated costs, especially meter prices and permits. Be careful to understand ratings on bids as well.
The panel rating is very misleading. Instead, look for the output of system rating which is the only real way to accurately gauge output.
