Richard L. Dickinson was born and raised in the Bay Area. He began his career at the age of eight, painting fences and stairs, at a commanding twenty-five cents per hour. Starting at age 16, he learned the trade by working with experienced painting contractors, and he went into business for himself in 1963. Today, he charges a bit more than a quarter per hour, but he’s worth it.

They work on interior and exterior projects of all sizes—from painting a single bathroom to painting an entire custom residential or commercial project. They’re often called upon to do specialty finishes and custom painting, where their knowledge of color and attention to detail is evident.
