Dr. Larry Porteous, DDS, has been practicing dentistry in the Bay Area for 30 years at three locations in Rodeo, Vallejo and Danville. A graduate of UC Berkeley, Dr. Porteous earned his dental degree from Case Western Reserve Dental School in 1980. He completed a general practice residency at Olive View Medical Center in Van Nuys, where he received specialized training in oral surgery.
Porteous Family Dentistry provides services for all aspects of dental care, eliminating the need for referrals in most cases. Dr. Porteous and his staff regularly attend continuing education meetings and training on dentistry advances. The doctor says he and his wife, dental hygienist Linda Porteous, warmly welcome patients of all ages. "We've developed a loyal clientele base over the years because of our commitment to quality dentistry," he says, "and because we put the needs and concerns of our patients first."
If you have an aching tooth, want to maintain your present good oral health, are interested in improving your smile, or just have some questions or concerns, Dr. Porteous’ office invites you to join its dental family.
“Let our family be your family dentist. We’re dedicated to treating and preventing dental diseases in a relaxed, calming atmosphere. We make it a priority to put you at ease. We want you to understand your dental condition, encourage your questions and outline your treatment options. We strive to provide each patient with the same respect, concern and care that we’d want to receive as a patient, and we deliver the most up-to-date dentistry in a personal style.”

"When I went to him, I had a fear of dentists. Because of him, my fear of dentists is just about gone. I like that he's honest. He lets you know what to expect and what's going on. There are no surprises. He accommodates me."
"Good doctor and good people, we've been going there since our children were small. They treat us like family. We travel now to see them, because we refuse to see anyone else. They are excellent."
