H.W. Construction and Home Remodeling Inc. is a general contracting firm that builds decks and room additions, remodels kitchens and bathrooms, replaces windows and doors, installs tile and wood flooring, and performs a variety of home renovations for residential clients throughout Contra Costa County. The company’s design capabilities and close relationships with electrical, plumbing, roofing and stucco subcontractors allow it to handle every phase of its clients’ projects.

Owner Hugh Walpole has been working in the residential construction industry for more than two decades, and he says his combination of technical skill and a background in business management gives him a unique perspective on the construction process. “In addition to knowing the most efficient techniques and methods, I understand what people expect from their projects. A lot of small business owners don’t excel in that area, but it’s been an important part of our success.”

Mr. Walpole and his business partner, Ed Cunningham, say their ability to stay personally involved in every project and communicate directly with clients make H.W.
