How to Speed Up The Moving Process

Should I tip my movers?

The short answer is: Yes. The longer answer is: It depends.

Movers are service professionals; if they’ve done a good job, you can show your thanks by tipping them $10 to $20 per person. If they’ve done an extraordinary job, you can tip more or offer to buy them lunch. And, as with any service, if their work has been subpar, you don’t have to tip at all. A reminder: if you’re unhappy with the company and not the workers themselves, don’t take it out on the guys hauling your things.*

*Remember, if you encounter an issue with a Diamond Certified company, you can always seek mediation with the Diamond Certified Resource. Our mediator will work with you and the company to attempt to reach an agreement that both parties can live with. For more information, go to
