McAvoy O'Hara Company originated as a Northern California stage coach line in the late 1840s. It is one of the West's oldest businesses and is California's oldest funeral service company. Still a family business, it is now owned and operated by fourth-generation San Franciscans Daniel and Richard O'Hara. The O'Hara brothers have each been involved in funeral service for over 30 of the firm's 150 plus years of service.

The caring staff of the Evergreen Mortuary of McAvoy O'Hara takes great personal pride in assisting families through the difficult and emotional process of planning funeral and memorial services. They realize that personal traditions and wishes vary greatly and there is no single, standard routine or formula that meets everyone's needs. Whether the preference is simple, complex, traditonal or contemporary, they will help arrange a service that honors the memory of a loved one and fulfills religous, ethnic or other personal preferences.

The Evergreen Mortuary of McAvoy O'Hara is a member of the Golden Rule, National Funeral Directors Association, Funeral Ethics Association and the California Funeral Directors Association.
