Q: How do I know if I need a new roof?
A: "We can inspect a roof to determine if there are missing, cracked or curling shingles, rotting wood, stains on interior walls or ceilings, or leaking water after heavy rains. Any of these problems can indicate you need a roof replacement."
Q: How long does it take to install a new roof?
A: "A typical single-family house takes an average of two to three days. The time required to replace a roof depends on its location, size, type, and difficulty. Complicated projects and those in cities that require a number of inspections can take more than a week. We advise clients how long we expect the job to last before we begin working."
Q: Is it always necessary to remove the existing roof?
A: "No. Often a roof can be recovered, but I often advise customers to replace it if the existing roof isn’t an adequate base for the new roof or is so damaged that covering it may have long-term implications. The California Building Code doesn’t allow wood shake, slate, clay, cement, or asbestos-cement tile roofs to be recovered."
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: "More than 15 years. Most of my staff has eight or more years of experience."
Q: Are you licensed and insured?
A: "Yes."
