Q: Are your pest control treatments safe?
A: "Both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Pesticide Regulation in California (generally considered stricter than the EPA) have evaluated the materials we use. Those agencies concluded that any risks involved with the approved materials are outweighed by the benefits they provide. Our treatments aren’t considered dangerous when used in the correct or approved manner."
Q: Are there restrictions for chemical use?
A: "The materials we use are tested at a high concentration level. When we apply that material and dilute it with water, the toxicity scale is much lower. It’s safe when applied according to the instructions. We also ask customers about any special circumstances, such as specific health conditions like asthma, so additional precautions can be implemented."
Q: Do you use toxic materials in your treatments?
A: "Yes. By definition, toxic means it's going to adversely affect something. If it wasn’t toxic, it wouldn't kill a pest. The issue isn’t about if the material is toxic, it's how the toxicity affects humans or other mammals. We try to use materials with the lowest possible toxicity levels that also have a proven track record of success. Whenever possible, we avoid applying treatments inside a client’s house unless absolutely necessary. We try to minimize their exposure to toxic materials."
Q: Do you require an ongoing contract?
A: "No. We can do one-time service treatments or multiple applications over a short time. We do have ongoing contract rates for customers that need them."
Q: Are you licensed?
A: "The California Department of Pesticide Regulation licenses us for our agricultural work (spraying of trees and parkways). We're also licensed by the Structural Pest Control Board for structural work in and around homes and buildings. In addition, each individual technician is licensed to make applications. Continuing education classes are required to renew the licenses."
Q: What kind of training do your technicians have?
A: "Our employees are constantly retrained on new pesticides, equipment, application techniques, and materials. We're always trying to upgrade and improve our techniques as a company and on an individual basis."
Q: How much does your service cost?
A: "We don't have a flat rate for everything we do, but some basic services are fairly standard. We offer free estimates based on onsite assessments. We give a fair price for our services and guarantee all our work."
