Q: Do you use subcontractors?
A: "No, not usually. We hold a general contractor’s license, as well as plumbing and electrical licenses, so we can do almost everything in-house. Everyone who works on your house will be one of our employees."
Q: How soon can you start a job?
A: "That depends on our workload at the moment and the size of the job. But typically, it takes us seven to 10 days to get started on a new project."
Q: What are your rates?
A: "We have a one-hour minimum, which is $140 for a one-hour job. For longer jobs, we charge $85 per hour—so a two hour job is $85 times two, not $140 plus $85. If it’s two people on the job, the hourly rate is $70 per person. For larger jobs that call for more than two people, we’ll usually submit a bid."
Q: Is any job too small?
A: "Not for us. You probably don’t want to pay us to replace a light bulb, for example, but we’ll do it if asked. We’ve found that one of the best ways to find a good contractor is to start with small jobs. Most of our clientele base is made up of long-term customers who keep hiring us for more work."
