A: "Wine has natural enemies: temperature variations, light, low humidity, high humidity, and vibration. A wine cellar minimizes these factors so that wine lasts longer and ages beautifully."
Q: How do you create a wine cellar?
A: "Basically, we cool the room by removing the heat from the room and putting it somewhere else. The vapor barrier stops moisture from coming in from the outside. It’s like when you walk outside on a cold morning and your car is wet. The car didn’t leak. The dew point dropped, turning the water vapor in the air to liquid. We don’t want that happening to the walls of your wine cellar. Then of course we add all the mechanical systems for cooling the room."
