Q: What’s the difference between custom and semi-custom cabinets?
A: "We carry five or six lines of semi-custom cabinets. These are already constructed, in stock, and ready to be installed, and the quality of the workmanship is the same. The trade-off is flexibility. Because they’re not completely custom designed, what’s available may not exactly fit your needs. A custom design, however, has no such limitations—we can do whatever you want. If you fall in love with one of our semi-custom lines and it fits your needs, you can save money, but if not, a custom design may be better."
Q: What’s the difference between granite and composite countertops?
A: "Granite is a type of volcanic rock containing crystallized minerals such as feldspar, quartz and mica, formed deep within the earth’s crust. Any piece of granite has a range of natural colors and patterns that make it an appealing and beautiful material. But if it’s not sealed, granite can stain. The sealant lasts one year, so granite countertops come with a one-year warranty. It’s easy to apply the sealant—you just put it on before you go to bed and the countertops are ready to use by morning. Composite materials, on the other hand, are man-made. They don’t have the natural beauty of granite, but generally come with a 10-year warranty. While we prefer the beauty of granite, we install several different types of composite countertops as well."
Q: Do you handle permits?
A: "Yes, we’ll obtain all the necessary permits for you."
Q: Do you run background checks on your employees?
A: "Yes, all our employees have undergone background checks and drug testing. We don’t let anyone into your home unless they have our full confidence."
Q: How much liability insurance do you carry?
A: "We carry $2 million in liability coverage, which is twice the California requirement."
