Q: Is solar a good choice for me?
A: "Solar is a good choice for most consumers. You’re going to have to pay for energy anyway, and we think you might as well pay yourself. Northern California is an ideal place for solar, because there are sunny days throughout the entire year. And after the initial investment of a new solar energy system, it’s virtually maintenance- and cost-free. Instead of paying your local power company every month, you’re creating your own power and may even be able to sell some of the energy your system makes."
Q: How long will it take to install my new solar energy system?
A: "The timeframe varies depending on the system you require, the specifics of your home and the season, but we complete most installations within one month from start to finish."
Q: Can I have solar panels installed on a tile roof?
A: "Absolutely. Not every company knows how to put panels on tile roofs, but we have the experience to do it with no problems. In fact, we’re able to put panels on almost any roof. We’ll come out, do an in-person estimate and tell you how we’ll work with your specific circumstances."
Q: Once my solar system is up and running, is there anything I need to do to keep it functioning?
A: "Solar electric systems are virtually maintenance-free, and there are no moving parts to break. Basically, you just turn on the system and it works on its own. The only maintenance that’s required is possibly cleaning the modules once or twice a year. Some homeowners do that themselves by spraying off the modules with a hose, and others have us return to do it for them."
Q: How do solar hot water systems work? Will I still be able to get hot water if it’s rainy or cold outside?
A: "Solar hot water systems are designed to preheat your water before it enters your water heater, so you end up using less gas or electricity. If it’s cold or the sun isn’t shining, your water heater will simply use more gas or electricity to heat the water, so you’ll never be without hot water."
Q: How do solar swimming pool systems work?
A: "Water flows through the system from your pool to the heating element and then back to the pool’s filtration system. This way, your pool stays warm and you don’t waste money heating it."
