Q: Do you offer any warranties?
A: "We have a standard one-year warranty written into each contract. But we back up everything we do. If there are problems, we clear them up at any time."
Q: Do I need a building permit for my project?
A: "You need a building permit for almost anything you do. We can help you obtain one."
Q: Can I pull a permit myself?
A: "You can, but if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can create problems. You’re probably better off letting us do it."
Q: Does construction stop during the winter?
A: "We’re able to build through the winter, especially if it’s indoors, so we don’t need to stop."
Q: Do you carry insurance?
A: "Yes. We have workers’ compensation insurance, which is required by state law, and general liability insurance, which isn’t. But we recommend liability insurance, for us and for you. If an accident happens in your home and the contractor has no coverage, then you have problems."
Q: Do you have options for energy-efficient or environmentally-friendly homes?
A: "There are plenty of options we can discuss. What’s good quality? What’s cost-effective? How do I get the rebate? We can talk you through everything."
