Q: Can you cure my foot problem?
A: "That depends on your particular problem. Even if we find a problem that isn’t necessarily curable, we can manage your discomfort so it doesn’t affect your daily activity. And it’s not just a matter of prescribing medication to make you feel better—we’ll literally change how your foot and ankle function so they behave normally for extended periods of time. We’ll work closely with you and come up with a plan that fits your particular situation."
Q: What should I expect from my initial visit?
A: "Your initial visit will include a complete history and physical examination, with specific attention paid to your individual foot or ankle problem. We may do a brief evaluation to learn more about the way you walk and how it affects your problem. We’ll also provide you with information about your problem and discuss possible treatment alternatives."
Q: What paperwork should I bring to my appointment?
A: "Please bring your medical and patient registration forms, insurance card, referral (if required by your insurance company) and workers’ compensation authorization (if necessary)."
Q: Are your physicians well-trained?
A: "All our physicians have received conventional medical training plus special training on the foot, ankle and lower leg. In addition to being well-trained in foot and ankle surgery, they’re experts in delivering care for complex foot disorders suffered by diabetic patients and common foot problems such as bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis (heel pain) and shin splints."
Q: How much will my foot procedure cost?
A: "Generally, our patients come to us because they’ve confirmed we’re an accepted provider under their insurance policies. Even so, we always work within each patient’s insurance coverage to minimize their out-of-pocket expenses without sacrificing the quality of care we provide."
Q: Do you provide alternatives to foot surgery?
A: "Yes. We’ll even explain all your options upfront and do a side-by-side comparison of therapy and surgery so you can determine what course of action you’d like to take."
Q: What’s your financial policy?
A: "Payment is expected in full at the time of service, unless other arrangements are made."
